Baby Girl Injured in Dog Attack in New Mexico

Early this year, deputies of a County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for help coming from a woman who said that 3 of her grandparents’ dogs left a fenced area on their property. The woman was carrying an 11-month-old baby when she tried to round up the dogs when suddenly one of the dogs, a brown pit bull, attacked her and bit the baby’s leg. The baby fell out of the woman’s arms and was bitten some more on the neck and head.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident tried to help by throwing things at the dog but was also attacked and bitten on the foot. The young child was treated for her wounds that required 10 stitches. Deputies removed the vicious pit bull and placed it in quarantine.
